چکیده
Abstract Zirconia-supported vanadium–copper catalysts (VCu x : y Zr) were used for the oxidative depolymerization of softwood LignoBoost Kraft lignin (LB). Various VCu Zr prepared ( = 0:1, 1:4, 1:2, 3:4, 1:1, and 1:0) by incipient wetness impregnation, reactions performed in alkaline water at 150 °C under an O 2 pressure 5 bar 10 min. 1 H– 13 C HSQC NMR spectroscopy was product identification quantification. The most promising catalyst VCu1:2Zr, giving a total monomer yield 9 wt% highest selectivity vanillin (59%). This characterized before after use N physisorption, XRD, TGA, SEM-EDS, XPS. Cleavage main interunit linkages LB, including β-O-4 bonds recalcitrant C–C bonds, also observed. findings this study demonstrate potential V–Cu/ZrO system production value-added aromatics from technical relatively mild conditions. would contribute to more sustainable underutilized side-stream forest-based industries, provided reuse can be successfully demonstrated.

Non-oxidative conversion of methane to aromatics over modified zeolite catalysts by transitional metals
The activity of different transitional metals over modified H-ZSM-5 catalysts for methane conversion to aromatics was compared. The first group of catalysts was Mo-impregnated H-ZSM-5 zeolites with 1, 3 and 6 wt% of Mo. The second group was M(3 wt%)- impregnated H-ZSM-5 (M: Ag, Cd, Cr, Mo, Zn and Mn). The catalytic activity of the first group was investigated at 600, 700 and 800 °C and gas hour...
متن کاملExperimental Studies on the Hydrotreatment of Kraft Lignin to Aromatics and Alkylphenolics Using Economically Viable Fe-Based Catalysts
Limonite, a low-cost iron ore, was investigated as a potential hydrotreatment catalyst for kraft lignin without the use of an external solvent (batch reactor, initial H2 pressure of 100 bar, 4 h). The best results were obtained at 450 °C resulting in 34 wt % of liquefied kraft lignin (lignin oil) on lignin intake. The composition of the lignin oil was determined in detail (elemental composition...
متن کاملKraft Lignin Depolymerization in an Ionic Liquid without a Catalyst
In this paper, the depolymerization of lignin was successfully achieved by the thermal treatment of kraft lignin in butyl-1,8-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undec7-enium chloride ([DBUC4][Cl]) without a catalyst. The thermal treatment experiments were performed in an oven at 150, 200, and 250 °C for 1 h. The changes in kraft lignin structure over the course of depolymerization were characterized by gel per...

Redox Catalysis Facilitates Lignin Depolymerization
Lignin is a recalcitrant and underexploited natural feedstock for aromatic commodity chemicals, and its degradation generally requires the use of high temperatures and harsh reaction conditions. Herein we present an ambient temperature one-pot process for the controlled oxidation and depolymerization of this potent resource. Harnessing the potential of electrocatalytic oxidation in conjugation ...
